Having A One Brand Watch Collection

Collecting watches can be done in a number of different ways and one approach is to have a very focused one brand collection.

What Is A One Brand Watch Collection?

It really is rather simple; you only buy watches from one company.

Most watch brands offer a range of watches, so it’s very possible to do this. When you look at some of the bigger brands, they have so many watches on offer it would probably be impossible to own them all.

Bigger companies also often cover the whole range of styles and types of watches, which makes it very easy to own a number of watches that are all very different, but all from the same brand.

Do People Actually Only Collect One Brand Of Watch?

Yes, there are plenty of people who do this. I don’t think it is the most common approach for watch collectors, but there are plenty of people who really enjoy this way of collecting.

Smaller Watch Collections

Let’s be realistic, the smaller your collection, the easier this is to do. If you only own 3 watches it can be very easy from them all to be from the same brand. If you own 33 watches, the chances that you are going to have a few different brand names in your collection gets a lot higher.

Watch Collections Within Watch Collections

I think it is very common for a lot of collectors to really enjoy one specific brand and have a number of watches from that one company but then also have a few other watches from elsewhere as well.

You could say I have done this. I have currently have 10 watches in my collection and 5 of those are Casio. It’s almost a collection within a collection.

It is also quite common to see one brand like this be separated in some way with in a collection, usually in a separate watch box. I often see a person’s “collection” which is a mix of various watched and then they pull out their other watch box for their really “precious collection” which houses all of their watches from their one favourite brand, their Rolexes for example. It’s very much their collection within their collection.

Should You Only Collect One Brand Of Watch?

This isn’t really a question I can answer. Only you can decide if this is what you want to do.

If one brand really calls your name, then certainly collect watches from them.

Having this level of brand loyalty is great and really shows that the watches must be of great quality if you are willing to only deal with them.

The problem for me is that variety is the spice of life. There is no way I could only focus on one watch brand. I feel like I would be ignoring so many other great companies and so many other great watches.

I am much happier to collect from a number of brands. I have found that certain brands really impress me and their individual watches really call to me, this is exactly why half my collection is currently made up of Casio. I could easily add another 5 more Casios tomorrow and be very happy about. I feel the variety they offer would totally work its way into my collection with no problem.

What Watch Brands Do People Do This With?

It really can be done with any watch brand. If there is one particular company you like and you want to go with it, go for it.

You will find it’s popular for people to only collect Rolex and Seiko or even Casio, however, this list is endless.  You will be able to find examples of this with any brand you can think of.

Do What Works For You

Watch collecting is really quite simple. Collect the watches that YOU like and that you can afford. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks and it doesn’t matter what brand or brands you choose. If you happen to end up with a little watch box with 3 beautiful Omegas inside, then so be it, if you end up with 20 cheap watches all from different brands. That’s fine too.

Don’t worry too much about it and just enjoy whatever you end up getting.
